Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of List Bulb (the “Service”), including our website, accounts, submissions, payments, badges, and related features. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service scope

List Bulb is a hand-reviewed directory of tools and related products. You may browse listings, create an account, submit a tool for review, claim ownership of a listing where available, interact with community features (such as upvotes), and purchase optional paid listing options when offered.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific rankings, traffic, search visibility, or business outcomes from being listed.

3. Accounts

You may sign in with a supported identity provider (for example Google) to save drafts, manage submissions and owned listings, complete checkout, claim listings, and use account-only features.

• You must provide accurate account information and keep access to your sign-in provider secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be able to form a binding contract and use the Service only as permitted by law.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the Service or other users.
• You may delete your account from Profile. Deletion requires email confirmation when you sign in with Google. Operator accounts cannot self-delete through the founder profile.

4. Submissions and editorial review

Submissions typically involve signing in, providing product details, choosing a listing option (free or paid, when available), completing any required payment or badge steps, and submitting for review. Pending listings may appear at a tool URL while review is in progress.

• Review is manual and editorial. Approval is not guaranteed for any listing option, including paid options.
• We may approve, reject, edit, delay, unlist, or remove listings at our discretion to protect quality, safety, and platform integrity.
• Promotional or featured placement, when offered, is promotional and may be limited in duration, inventory, or eligibility. It is not verification or endorsement.
• Free listings may remain available. Paid options, when offered, purchase benefits such as priority review or placement as described at purchase time — not approval, rankings, traffic, or SEO outcomes.
• If you provide a social handle or contact details, we may use them to contact you about your listing.
• Owners may unlist a live product or delete a non-live product from Your Products. Unlisting removes the product from the public directory immediately; owners may List again if listing details are unchanged, or Resubmit for review if they edited the listing. Deleting a product permanently removes its listing record, analytics, and related data for that product. Paid listing fees are generally not refunded once review or placement benefits were delivered, as described in §5.

5. Listing options and payments

We may offer free and optional paid listing options. Current names, prices, included benefits, and eligibility are shown on our pricing page and at checkout. Those details may change for new purchases at any time. Prior purchases are governed by the benefits disclosed at the time of purchase, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

Paid options are generally one-time purchases processed by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. Card details are collected on the provider's hosted checkout; we do not store full card numbers on List Bulb. Payment processing is also subject to the provider's terms and policies.

• Paying does not guarantee approval, featured placement beyond what was purchased and disclosed, rankings, traffic, or SEO outcomes.
• Plan upgrades (for example QuickPass to Featured) are separate one-time purchases at the price shown at checkout. They are not prorated against prior purchases unless we explicitly state otherwise at checkout.
• Featured homepage placement, when purchased, generally starts when your listing is published on the public directory, not while it is still pending review.
• Abandoned or superseded checkout sessions may be cancelled; payment on a cancelled session does not entitle you to plan benefits.
• We may refuse, cancel, or reverse a purchase in cases of fraud, abuse, duplicate charges, or material error.
• Refund requests may be sent to hello@listbulb.com. Paid fees are generally non-refundable once review has started, benefits have been delivered, or the listing has been approved, except where required by law or where we determine a duplicate or erroneous charge occurred.

6. Ownership claims and badges

Where available, you may claim an unowned listing by methods we support (for example email match or badge verification). We may approve, deny, or reverse claims if we believe ownership is disputed, fraudulent, or incorrect.

Badge or backlink requirements, if any, depend on the listing option and are disclosed during submit or claim flows. Badge usage or verification does not guarantee approval, promotional placement, rankings, traffic, or SEO outcomes, and is not an endorsement of your product.

7. Your content and license

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as product names, descriptions, logos, images, URLs, and social handles). You grant List Bulb a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for formatting, and distribute that content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Service, including in public listings, search results, embeds, and marketing that references the directory.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and grant this license, and that your content does not infringe others' rights or violate law.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit inaccurate, misleading, spam, malware, illegal, or deceptive content
• Impersonate others or claim listings you do not own or control
• Abuse, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security
• Manipulate votes, analytics, badges, or review processes
• Use the Service to violate law or third-party rights
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to use

9. Community features

Features such as upvotes (“Bulbs”) or similar interactions may be limited to signed-in users and subject to rate limits or anti-abuse controls. We may remove votes or interactions that appear automated, abusive, or manipulative.

10. External links and third parties

Directory listings and outbound links lead to third-party websites and products. We are not responsible for their content, policies, uptime, security, pricing, or practices. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

11. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and original content (excluding your submitted content and third-party materials), is owned by List Bulb or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our branding or non-public materials without permission, except for limited personal, non-commercial use of public pages as ordinarily permitted by web browsers.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, remove content, or revoke listing benefits if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, or if we discontinue part or all of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account or remove owned products as described in §§3–4. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses already exercised, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limits) continue after termination.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose, or that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, List Bulb and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from use of the Service or reliance on any listing. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the listing option giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $50, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify List Bulb and its operators against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your listings, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process for material changes.
